The Math Behind Parlay Odds

Step 1: Convert American to decimal odds. Positive odds: (odds / 100) + 1. Negative odds: (100 / |odds|) + 1.
Step 2: Multiply all decimal odds together to get the combined parlay odds.
Step 3: Payout = Wager x Combined Decimal Odds. Profit = Payout - Wager.

For example, a 3-leg parlay with -110, +150, and -130 odds converts to decimal odds of 1.909, 2.500, and 1.769. Multiplied together: 1.909 x 2.500 x 1.769 = 8.443. A $100 bet pays $844.30 total ($744.30 profit).

What is a parlay?

A parlay is a single sports bet that combines two or more individual wagers into one. All selections (legs) must win for the parlay to pay out. Because every leg must hit, parlays offer significantly higher payouts than placing each bet individually, but they also carry more risk.

How do I calculate parlay odds?

Convert each leg's American odds to decimal format (positive: odds/100 + 1; negative: 100/|odds| + 1), then multiply all decimal odds together. The result is your combined parlay decimal odds. Multiply by your wager to get the total payout.

What are the payouts for a parlay?

Parlay payouts grow exponentially with each leg. A 2-leg parlay at -110 each pays about 2.64x your wager. A 3-leg at -110 pays about 6x. A 4-leg pays roughly 12.3x. More legs mean higher payouts but lower probability.
